Nominal calibration is 0dBu input for -18dBFS digital output, preset internally. The internal control system inserts channel status information and maintains the sample frequency information. The single LED on the front panel has three colours to indicate initial calibration phase, lock to external or lock to internal clock. In the absence of an external reference an internal reference of 48kHz is used. The converter references to an external reference if available, which may be in the range of 35kHz to 110kHz, so may operate at 48kHz and 96kHz as well as consumer frequencies. Aimed at converting analogue sources for use in fully digital installations, it is particularly suitable for partnering BCD's ALT-1 automatic preamplifier.
